This case was an individual school assignment for GoTo Hub, a Norwegian-based white label company. The assignment was to improve customers' experience on their booking pages.
GoTo Hub is a library of bookable tourism products. The hub can be used by destination companies, hotels, influencers, tour operators, and travel agents. https://www.gotohub.no/en/
I was the only UX designer working closely with the company's CTO
I went through many websites that have bookable products such as Booking.com, Tripadvisor, Airbnb as well as those, that have nothing to do with tourism, however have bookable products that are also presented in a form of product cards (such as Coursera).
I also made an audit of the existing product and discussed with the stakeholders about the features they wanted to keep or alternatively change.
I identified existing and potential customers and their possible needs:
I checked and analyzed different statistics about tourism in Norway (both domestic and from abroad) such as what means of transportation are used, how long tourists usually stay in the country, how many regions they visit, and how much time ahead the trips are planned etc.
The research focused on:
I read about brand authentification, what helps customers to make their purchase decision, how they define trusted vs untrusted companies, what makes them trust a company etc.
And last but not least, I created How Might We questions based on my research and the outcomes I got. These questions helped me to stay focused when building my prototype.
